India women’s ODI captain and veteran cricketer Mithali Raj has come forward in the current crisis. In the fight against coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Mithali has decided to donate Rs 5 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund and 5 lakh to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
“All of us need to join hands in this fight against the deadly coronavirus. I pledge to contribute my little bit – Rs. 5 lakh to The PM – CARES Fund and Rs 5 lakh to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,” tweeted Mithali.

So far, many former and current Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Richa Ghosh have helped government agencies in their fight against Covid-19. Also, Pathan brothers – Irfan and Yusuf – have given 5,000 free masks to the needy people in Baroda.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus infected patients is increasing day by day in the country. And to counter this situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to lockdown the entire country till April 14.
