The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) obliged to Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) request of preponing the one-off ODI match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, on Thursday.

Pakistan was scheduled to play Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Karachi on April 3. Instead, Pakistan will now play the match on April 1, helping Bangladesh to prepare for the ICC Test Championship.

Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan was scheduled haphazardly due to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020. Back in January, the Tigers visited Pakistan and played three T20Is, which the host won by 2-0l. The third game was abandoned due to rain.

Bangladeshi team then took on Pakistan for a solitary Test match, which they lost. The Tigers went back home and are currently hosting Zimbabwe for a full-fledged tour.

The last match of the Zimbabwe tour, 3rd T20I, ends on March 11. Few key Bangladeshi players will then participate in the Asia XI and World XI fixtures scheduled for March 21 and 22.

Later, the Bangladesh cricket team will fly back to Pakistan on March 29 and take on the Men in Green in the one-off ODI game on April 1. This gives them enough time to prepare for the second Test match at Rawalpindi, starting April 5.

“The PCB is always happy to facilitate wherever it can and will be delighted to host the Bangladesh men’s national team for additional days in Karachi,” PCB director of International cricket, Zakir Khan, stated according to HT.
