he Indian Women’s team displayed immense character to reach the finals of Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The Blue Brigade remained invincible throughout the tournament, only to be beaten in the finals at the hands of host Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

One of the spirited performers for India in the tournament, Poonam Yadav, picked up 10 wickets in 5 matches of the tournament. She remained the highest wicket-taker in the multilateral competition only behind Australian seamer Megan Schutt who scalped 13.

In a recent interaction on Twitter via hashtag AskPY, the leg-spinner revealed about her favourite cricketers. Poonam named former Indian captain MS Dhoni as her favorite cricketer, along with former Indian women’s team international Neetu Davids.

Throughout the T20 World Cup, Yadav’s four-over spell turned out to be the deciding factor in the match. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur used her ace spinner brilliantly to provide essential breakthroughs in the middle overs.

Poonam, more often than not, delivered for the team whenever a wicket was demanded of her.
Her 4/10 spell ripped through the mighty Australian batting lineup in the tournament opener. Yadav impressed one and all with her deception, flight, and execution of googly, which bamboozled several batters.

However, on the big stage, the five-time World Champions bull-dozed over India by smashing bowlers to all parts of the ground. Indian batting order capitulated under pressure. As a result, handing hosts a massive victory.
