Sachin Tendulkar shares an inspiring message for India women’s team ahead of T20 World Cup final

As the Indian women team get ready to face defending champions Australia in the finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Melbourne on March 8, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared an inspiring message for the ‘Women in Blue.’

Tendulkar was present at an event in Mumbai, where he advised the women’s team to enjoy the special occassion and give their best.

“Just live in the moment and play the finals. I was there next to the trophy when I was in Australia, and few members of our women’s team were there with me. I told them that it would be nice to see you with the trophy back in India,” he said while speaking to ANI as quoted by HT.

“My message to them would be to go out and give your best. I would tell them to not take any pressure. They don’t need to spend time with the outside world. I have watched their performances, and they have inspired so many youngsters,” Tendulkar added.

The Master Blaster opined that in the end, it’s just about bringing glory to the country.

“It is about bringing laurels to our nation, so many athletes in different fields have brought laurels to our nation; this would be another one. Go and enjoy yourself,” the 46-year-old concluded.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side reached the closing game of the mega event after their semi-final clash with England was abandoned due to rain in Sydney on Thursday. India being the table toppers of Group A, qualified for the final battle of the elite competition.
