India’s domestic batting stalwart, Wasim Jaffer, recently named the ‘best cricketing brain’ in the current generation.

One of the cricket fans on Twitter asked the veteran opening batsman from Mumbai regarding his opinion on the best mind amongst the current crop of cricketers in the Indian team.

Ahead of the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Jaffer picked his fellow Mumbaikar Rohit Sharma’s brain cricketing as the best amongst the lot.

India’s premier opening batsman in all formats, Rohit, led the Mumbai Indians to IPL titles in every alternate year, starting from 2013.

He also remained unbeaten in the all the T20I series he has led the Indian side. With the help of the last over blitz from Dinesh Karthik, Sharma helped India clinch the Nidahas Trophy in 2018.

The Indian vice-captain, over the years, has proved to be an able deputy to skipper Kohli, who leads India in all formats of the game.

Rohit is also amongst the leading run-scorers in the limited-overs format in the world after his promotion to the opening slot in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Since then, he has matched Kohli’s record run for run.

However, with King Kohli in the side, the four-time IPL winning captain seldom gets an opportunity to lead India. Still, the wily cricketer keeps providing inputs on the field which often turns into masterstrokes.
