Wasim Jaffer shares his favourite memory with Indian veteran MS Dhoni

The suspense regarding MS Dhoni’s international future has increased significantly since the 2019 World Cup when he last played for the Indian side against New Zealand in the semi-finals.

After the mega event, fans haven’t yet seen Dhoni donning the prestigious India jersey. MSD has remained unavailable for all of India’s home and away series since then, and was set to make a comeback in IPL 2020.

The 13th season of IPL was a perfect stage for Dhoni to impress the selectors in order to make a comeback in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in Australia later this year.

However, due to the deadly outbreak of coronavirus, the BCCI was forced to suspend the tournament until April 15. Now, it has been reported that IPL 2020 is set to be cancelled as the Covid-19 spread is increasing on daily basis.

Now, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has revealed that India World Cup-winning captain Dhoni wanted to earn just Rs 30 lakhs and live peacefully at his home town Ranchi.

While replying to a fan’s question regarding his favourite memory with Dhoni, Jaffer said: “In his 1st or 2nd year in the Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30 lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi.”
