It looks like the ongoing DY Patil T20 Trophy competition is an exhibition gallery for the batting firepower within the Mumbai Indians team, ahead of the IPL season of 2020.
After Hardik Pandya wreaked carnage against CAG a few days back, the star all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 158 off just 55 deliveries against BPCL on Friday. Hardik’s monstrous tally of 20 sixes announced his return to prime fitness ahead of the MI’s campaign this IPL season.
Pandya single-handedly took Reliance 1’s score to 238, coming in to bat with the score at 10-2. India’s marquee finisher, who is on his comeback trail in international cricket post back surgery, struck the ball at a whopping rate above 287.
Mumbai Indians’ social media handle could not help but post Pandya’s gigantic effort against BPCL on Friday.
On the other hand, the man who has figuratively oozed runs off his blade this season, Suryakumar Yadav, also announced that he is raring to go at the upcoming edition of IPL.
His excellent run of form enabled him to bid a contention in the national side. SK Yadav’s unbeaten knock of 143 off just 63, also did quite a few rounds on social media, parallelly to Pandya’s feat.
Yadav matched Pandya shot for shot during his mega knock consisting of 14 sixes and seven boundaries against DY Patil ‘B’ team.
Here’s a snippet of his innings:
As of now, both Pandya and Yadav top the run charts in the DY Patil T20 Trophy. Yadav tops the leaderboard with a jaw-dropping 441 runs to his name in 6 innings. Surya Kumar is closely followed by Pandya, who has amassed 347 runs in the five innings played thus far.
