The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to begin from March 29. The inaugural game will take place between two best teams of the lucrative league; Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium.

CSK, led by India’s most successful skipper MS Dhoni, has started their training drills. Dhoni, who was last seen in a 2019 World Cup semi-final contest against New Zealand, come back to his second home. The wicket-keeper batsman has started practicing in the nets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The 38-year-old has shown his vintage ‘avatar’ during the training session. A video of which is getting viral on social media. Star Sports Tamil uploaded a video of Dhoni’s training on Twitter, in which the power-striker can be seen smashing the balls for maximums.

In the video, Dhoni can be seen hitting not one, not two, but five consecutive sixes. However, it remains unclear whether Dhoni is hitting the shots against a bowler or a ball-machine. But one thing which is clear as a blue sky is Dhoni’s old school form.

So far, MSD has played 190 IPL matches (including two editions for Rising Pune Supergiants) and has scored 4,432 runs – fifth most by an Indian batsman. Dhoni also has 209 sixes to his name in the cash-rich league, which is maximum by an Indian player and third overall.
