Former India Test skipper and coach Anil Kumble on Tuesday made a donation to the Central and Karnataka state relief funds to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

The legendary leg-spinner had earlier posted a video on social media urging fans to stay at home and follow the guidelines issued by the government in the battle against coronavirus.

In his message, Kumble said that social distancing is the only thing which can save everyone from coronavirus. He also asked people to listen to doctors, nurses, police personnel and government officials for safety measures.

Kumble thus joined a host of leading sportspersons like batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, India skipper Virat Kohli, his deputy Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Mithali Raj among others who have generously contributed for the noble cause.
