Excluding SRH, Tom Moody picks his favourite IPL team and captain

Coronavirus pandemic has brought out the sporting world to engage with the fans a lot more on social media. With almost all of the tournaments and events cancelled or postponed, the sporting community is initiating fans into question and answer sessions on Twitter.

Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kevin Pietersen and Virat Kohli have held conversations on Instagram live and fans have loved the tete-a-tete.

Recently, former Australian all-rounder and former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach Tom Moody also asked his fans and followers to put up some questions in front of him on Twitter. One which caught everyone’s attention was where a fan asked Moody to mention his favourite IPL team and captain excluding SRH.

Moody replied in a jiffy and wrote, “@ChennaiIPL and @msdhoni because of their incredible consistency.”

While it was the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise which dented SRH’s dream of lifting their second title, in 2018 edition, Moody rated the Yellow Brigade as one of the best sides in IPL history due to their consistency. As a matter of fact, the Chennai-based franchise has featured in 10 IPL seasons and qualified for the playoffs on all occasions. In addition, they have played eight tournament-finals and won thrice.

One of the main reasons for CSK’s consistency is MS Dhoni’s astute leadership and way of handling his own players during crunch situations. Moreover, the pair of captain-and-coach in the form of Dhoni and Stephen Fleming is a formidable one, where the two back each other’s strategies to the core.

Moody, who has coached multiple teams in the IPL, believes New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is blessed with the best cricketing brain and Ravindra Jadeja is his favourite Indian fielder.
