Netizens lambast Yuvraj Singh after his appeal to donate to Shahid Afridi’s foundation for COVID-19 relief

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has come under severe criticism after his decision to support the Shahid Afridi Foundation to fight against COVID-19.

Yuvraj’s decision to help Shahid Afridi came after Harbhajan Singh, who had requested his fans to make donations to the former Pakistan captain’s foundation. Harbhajan had tagged Yuvraj, Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar, requesting them to spread the awareness.

In his recent post on Twitter, Yuvraj wrote: “These are testing times, it’s time to lookout for each other specially the ones who are lesser fortunate. Lets do our bit, I am supporting @SAfridiOfficial & @SAFoundationN in this noble initiative of covid19. Pls donate on http://donatekarona.com #StayHome @harbhajan_singh.”

However, Yuvi’s tweet didn’t go well with Indian fans, who lambasted him for supporting Shahid Afridi’s foundation. The primary reason behind this was Afridi’s past remarks about India, which had enraged many Indian fans in the past.

Considering the stern relations between the neighbouring countries, netizens were furious at Yuvraj for extending support to Afridi and his foundation, along with urging fans to donate to the same.
