India’s current and former cricketers have come up with unique ways to keep themselves busy during the ongoing lockdown period. It is one of those rare phases where active sportspersons are getting time to spend with their families. One of the biggest challenges while staying at home for a longer duration is no access to salons for hair-cuts.
Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who has been pretty active on social media while spreading awareness for the COVID-19 pandemic, recently posted a few pictures in which he can be seen giving himself a hair-cut.
“From playing square cuts to doing my own hair cuts, have always enjoyed doing different things. How’s my new hairdo looking @aalimhakim & @nandan_v_naik?,” the Mumbaikar captained the pictures.
Responding to Tendulkar’s post, England women cricketer Danielle Wyatt, who is known for her interactions with several Indian cricketers, tagged Tendulkar’s son Arjun and asked him why didn’t he gave his dad a hair-cut. “Why didn’t you cut it for him,” she asked.
Not to forget, Arjun is a good friend of Wyatt – and the two have also been spotted together several times in London.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has been one of the few cricketers who have heavily donated to the relief funds of the COVID-19 crisis. The former Indian batsman had donated 25 Lakhs INR to PM-CARES fund (Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund). He also donated the same amount of money to the Maharashtra Cheif Minister’s relief fund.
Other than this, Tendulkar had also provided rations to 5000 people for a month. He did this in association with a popular NGO, Apnalaya.
My best wishes to @ApnalayaTweets to continue your work in the service of the distressed and needy. Keep up your good work.🙏🏻 https://t.co/1ZPVLK7fFb
