Shreyas Iyer follows Kane Williamson’s footsteps, recreates slip catching moment with his dog – WATCH

The cricketing action around the world has faced an abrupt halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nowadays, many players are posting updates on social media from their personal lives, since they are following the lockdown orders.

India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who a few days back interacted with his fans on Twitter via Q/A session, once again gave the fans a glimpse of his quarantine-period as he shared an adorable video with pet dog.

Recently, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson posted a video on his official Instagram handle playing with his dog Sandy. In the video, Williamson can be seen edging the ball purposely to his dog, who then jumps and takes a fantastic catch. Iyer too followed Williamson’s idea and tried doing the same with his dog Betty.

However, Betty failed in the first few attempts to catch the ball, but in the end, she successfully grabbed the catch.

“Betty wanted to have a go too after watching Kane Williamson’s beautiful dog Sandy nail that catch. Took Betty a while but she’s got her first catch and immediately ran to celebrate,” Iyer captioned the video on Twitter.

Iyer is not the only man in the Indian cricket team to have a dog. Former captain MS Dhoni, current skipper Virat Kohli, opener Rohit Sharma, wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul, and speedster Umesh Yadav, are such names who have pets at home.
