A combined ODI XI from India and South Africa picked by Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers would be led by two-times World Cup-winning captain, MS Dhoni.
India talisman Kohli and South African veteran de Villiers interacted in an Instagram Live session on Friday. The star Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pair spoke about several topics and at the end unveiled an ODI team comprising of India and South Africa players.
Praising Dhoni, de Villiers said: “I have always had a world of respect for him, he is always calm and knows the game well.”
Speaking about their friendship, ABD said it is ‘timeless’ while captain Kohli added it is ‘based on trust’.
“We will be through this (novel coronavirus) sooner than we think. We just need to stay positive,” Kohli said, signing off.
RCB stars auction their cricketing gears
Kohli and de Villiers have decided to auction their 2016 IPL knock bats, gloves and t-shirts online with the proceeds from that going for the COVID-19 relief and to the organisation which supports in getting meals to the needy people.
On 14th May 2016, Kohli smashed a 55-ball 109 while de Villiers slammed an unbeaten 129 off just 52 deliveries guiding RCB to a 144-run win over the Gujarat Lions. In their stipulated 20 overs, RCB had posted 248/4 – the second-highest score in IPL history.
