India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli, named the two batsmen he enjoys batting with the most, on Thursday.
Kohli revealed his answer when asked by former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen in a recent chat on Instagram live.
In the Indian team, Kohli picked Indian talismanic wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni as his favourite to bat with. The two Indian batsmen have helped India post daunting totals as well as chase them, over the years.
However, in franchise cricket, he picked his RCB teammate AB de Villiers as his preferred batting partner. The RCB duo have stitched several monumental partnerships during their stint at IPL.
In fact, AB and Virat hold the top two slots in the list of highest partnership in the IPL. In the 2015 edition, the two added a whopping 215* against Mumbai Indians at their backyard at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In the subsequent edition, the two toppled their record by posting a mammoth 229 for the second wicket against Gujarat Lions at Rajkot.
“Two people I have enjoyed most batting with well I like to bat with people who run well and understand my calling. So with MS Dhoni for India and with AB de Villiers otherwise. With AB, the partnership just flows. We don’t even talk cricket,” stated Kohli while conversing with Pietersen.
Also during the interview, Kohli talked about various issues such as RCB’s inability to clinch an IPL title, how he transformed himself and the Indian cricket regime with supreme fitness and much more.
