Amid coronavirus outbreak, no cricketing action is getting underway across the globe. Still, cricketers are finding some ways to interact with their fans and followers. They have increased their activity on social media platforms to chat with their admirers.
Recently, Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry joined a chat session with TV presenter Ridhima Pathak presented by Sony Sports India where she discussed various aspects of the game and how is lockdown affecting her life.
Pathak conducted an off-field conversation with Perry in which the latter was asked to name one batsman apart from Sachin Tendulkar against whom she would love to bowl.
The New South Wales cricketer responded to the question and took the name of former Australian legend Michael Hussey. Perry regarded Hussey as her favourite player while growing up.
“My favourite player growing up was always Michael Hussey. I just loved watching him play, so it would be an honour to bowl to him,” said Perry.
Similarly, Pathak asked another question to Perry, but this time it was for a bowler that the Australian all-rounder would like to bat against. Perry went with the bowling maestro Shane Warne and stated she would love facing the leg-spinner.
“I’ll go with Shane Warne. Not just facing the ball, but facing him would be special,” added Perry.
The anchor also asked Perry to speak about the experience she felt while bowling against one of the greatest batsmen of men’s cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, during the Bushfire Appeal campaign.
“Sachin created a very very special day. His willingness to be a sport and take part was indeed quite special,” Perry added further.
Perry has so far played 112 ODIs and 120 T20Is for the Aussie team and has accumulated 3022 and 1218 runs, respectively. She also has 152 ODIs and 114 T20I wickets to her name. The talented sportswoman has also featured in 8 Tests for her nation and scored 624 runs with a double hundred as well. She has bagged 31 scalps in the red-ball format.
