Indian cricketers offer their solace to Cyclone Amphan victims

As it is, the world is hit by a fatal pandemic, to make matters worse for residents of West Bengal, Sunderbans and Odisha, they have been hit by a vicious super cyclone named ‘Amphan’.

The devastation caused by the hurricane on Wednesday is being documented on social media since the morning.

Watching the disturbing visuals coming from the Eastern part of the country, Indian cricketers joined in solidarity to offer their condolences for the victims of the natural disaster.

Reportedly, as many as 14 million lives have been disrupted in the North 24 Paraganas and South 24 Paraganas in the absence of electricity and mobile network, to make matters complex, in the presence of an ongoing battle against COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the worst-hit cyclone in West Bengal since 1999. Trees were seen uprooted, network coverage has been disrupted, the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport lied submerged in water, and several households have been demolished.

As soon as the wild storm hit the shores, the hashtag ‘Pray for West Bengal and ‘Cyclone Amphan’ immediately went trending.

Indian captain Virat Kohli registered his sympathies for the victims of Super Cyclone by tweeting, “My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by #CycloneAmphan in Odisha and West Bengal. May God protect everyone out there and hope things get better soon #PrayForWestBengal.”

Even KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, VVS Laxman and many others joined the bandwagon to pour in their sympathies for the victims of the calamity.
