Each year since 2008, the month of April and May is booked for the best T20 competition in the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL).
While some play out of their skins to show their worth to the selectors, the other established ones play to show their class in the high-octane league.
Each edition betters the previous ones with the thrilling action between the franchises. Today, let’s have a look at the leading run-scorers in IPL since 2017:
5. Suresh Raina
Mr IPL, Raina, is amongst the all-time leading run-scorers in the IPL. Since 2017, ‘China Thala’ accumulated as many as 1270 runs at an average of 32.56 with a strike-rate of 132.70. Raina is the fifth-highest run-getter in the IPL since 2017.
4. Virat Kohli
No list of leading run-scorers is complete without Virat Kohli in it. Also in the race with Raina for the all-time run-scorer, King Kohli has amassed 1302 runs at an average of 37.20, and an impressive strike-rate of 135.48. He has scored the fourth most number of runs since 2017.
3. David Warner
The best overseas batsman to have featured in the IPL, Warner has notched up third-most (1333) runs at an astounding average of 63.47, since 2017. Warner has scored his runs at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 142.87.
2. Shikhar Dhawan
There was no change in the flow of runs from Dhawan’s bat with him coming back to home ground-based franchise Delhi Capitals, after a successful stint at Sunrisers Hyderabad.
