India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took to Instagram on Friday to post a video of him bowling a perfect delivery to knock over New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill’s off stump.

West Indies swashbuckling opener Chris Gayle, who has played alongside Chahal in Indian Premier League (IPL) during his stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore, took a cheeky dig at the leg-spinner over his bowling. “You overstepped the line, No ball!! Umpire,” Gayle commented.

Chahal, who is known for his sarcastic posts and comments on social media, gave a savage reply to his former IPL teammate. “haha uncle still last night effect?” Chahal replied.

Both Chahal and Gayle remain close friends despite being in different dugouts in the IPL. Gayle has been playing for the Kings XI Punjab franchise since 2018 and remains a potent force for the one-time runners-up. Gayle was gearing up to play under KL Rahul in this year’s edition; however, the tournament has been postponed twice in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

On the other hand, Chahal was to be seen in Virat Kohli-led RCB but the fate of this year’s IPL continues to hang in the balance. The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had recently stated that the Indian cricket board remains committed to organising the IPL later this year, depending on the situation, even if it means playing behind closed doors.
