Former England captain, Nasser Hussain, has heaped praise on ex-India skipper, Sourav Ganguly. Hussain also drew a comparison between the styles of captaincy between the two.

The former England batsman, who now enjoys a successful tenure as a commentator, has credited ‘Dada’ for revolutionizing Indian cricket.

Earlier, the Indian team was renowned for being run-overs during tours away from home. However, it all changed with the captaincy being appointed to Dada.

Ganguly inculcated an aggressive culture in the Indian team, backing several match-winners as a captain.

“Sourav made the Indian team a feisty side. He made the side tough, and when he was captaining the side you knew you were in a big battle with them. I have a huge respect for him as a captain as he started the revolution of Indian cricket,” Hussain said on Sony Ten Pit Stop.

Taking over from one of the best captains the game has witnessed, MS Dhoni, can be a daunting task for any young cricketer.

Moreover, current Indian captain Virat Kohli through his performances went on to prove that the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands.

“Virat Kohli is a hugely combative cricketer. When he is out on the field, he wants to win and is desperate for the victory,” added Hussain.

Further, Hussain praised the England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan brought in a much-needed change in culture in the team, post-humiliating exit from the 2015 World Cup.

Under Morgan, the free-flowing, hard-hitting batsmen bloomed and as a result, posted the most number of 300+ plus totals until their triumphant 2019 ODI World Cup.

“He has done such a fine job leading the England white-ball side. The best aspect of the side is that they look to express themselves well,” the cricketer-turned-broadcaster claimed.

Further, under Morgan, England won its first ODI World Cup title in 2019. “Another important aspect of this side is their selection. They have gone with players who are good white-ball cricketers such as Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy among others. More importantly, Eoin is known to be someone who is calm and cool as a captain,” Hussain concluded.
