Ravi Shastri, the Indian cricket team’s head coach, knows there is no alternative to hard work. Shastri, who started his journey as a cricketer, then became a commentator and now coaching the Indian team, is the right guy to share the experience.

Shastri has observed people on different stages, and that’s where his latest Instagram post’s caption came from.

On Tuesday, while sharing a throwback picture of himself on social media, Shastri wrote, “There may be people that are more talented than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do #Throwback #IndiaBlazer #TeamIndia.”

Soon after he shared the picture, not only fans flooded the comment section with heart-warming messages for the former all-rounder, but his post also attracted a special reaction from Bollywood star Ranveer Singh.

“Kya baat,” Ranveer commented on Shastri’s post.

Arun Karthik, who has played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), also agreed with Shastri’s opinion towards hard work. “Well said sir,” wrote Karthik.

Shastri played 80 Tests and 150 ODI matches for India, amassing over 3000 runs in both formats. He also picked 280 wickets in international cricket before hanging his boots on December 26, 1992.

Actor Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, is waiting for the release of his movie ’83’, in which he played the role of legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. It’s a sports-related drama surrounding India’s triumph in the 1983 World Cup. Back then India beat the two-times champions West Indies in the final at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Apart from cricket, Ranveer is also a football follower and is a fan of Arsenal F.C.
