Sakshi reveals why MS Dhoni didn’t post anything on social media during coronavirus pandemic

MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi recently revealed why the former Indian captain has had virtually no presence on social media during the coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown.

“He’s had pressure to post videos on coronavirus and all, but he hasn’t. Because you know, if your PM has said something, then you should jolly well follow it (the guidelines). Nobody is bigger than your PM right now, in the country. So ya, that’s why he hasn’t come and stated anything on social media,” said Sakshi during an Instagram live session with Chennai Super Kings’ official presenter Rupha Ramani.

Sakshi also joked that only she can pick up a fight with ‘ice-cool’ Dhoni who last played for India during their loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semi-final.

“Nobody picks up a fight with him. I am the only one,” she smiled.

Sakshi further revealed that Dhoni has always kept his door open during tours and players could walk in any time they wanted.

“Mahi has always kept his door open. It has been like that since 2010 (when we got married). People come…we chat sometimes till 3-4 in the morning. When they come to talk to Mahi about cricket, I go away.”

Mahi is always ’emotional’ about cricket: Sakshi

As per Sakshi, MS Dhoni is always emotional about the game as it is his first love.

While talking about Dhoni getting emotional after leading India to 2011 World Cup win and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their third IPL title in 2018, Sakshi said: “Mahi is always emotional about cricket. It’s his love.”

Dhoni’s return to competitive cricket was one of the main highlights of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was believed that his performance in IPL would decide if he will be a part of the forthcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

The IPL 13 is currently suspended indefinitely, and T20 World Cup looks all set to be postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic as well. The BCCI is looking at an October-November window to stage the cash-rich league.
