Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and other cricketers condole death of Indian soldiers in Galwan valley

Superstar cricketers, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma among others, have paid their respects to the Indian soldiers who lost their lives in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley after a face-off with the Chinese Army on Monday night.

In the statement, released by Indian Army, it was stated: “During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation.”

The bloody clash, which has soared the ongoing tension between India and China, has left many in shock.

“Salute and deepest respect to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country in the Galwan Valley. NO one is more selfless and brave than a soldier. Sincere condolences to the families. I hope they find peace through our prayers at this difficult time,” tweeted Kohli.

“Salute to our REAL HEROES who laid their lives protecting and honouring our border. May god give their families utmost strength #GalwanValley,” wrote Rohit.

A host of other cricket stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir also reacted on the news.
