The ever-growing usage of social media by celebrities in the recent decade has given birth to a new form of nuisance known as ‘trolling’.
It is a common practice among users on all social media platforms who deliver unfiltered comments to prominent entities in society.
In India, cricket and Bollywood are the most followed industries, and the popular figures face the most amount of ‘trolls’ on social media.
Another recent instance of trolling came into light when one of the users commented on a post by the official Instagram of the Indian cricket team.
The interactive post displayed an arm with a recognizable tattoo etched on it and captioned, ‘Guess Who?’.
To which, one of the followers commented, “Kis garib ka haat hai ye,” mocking the skinny arm of Indian wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
However, Chahal had a befitting reply in store for the troll, as he replied to the comment and said: “Uss garib ka jo ground pe apne desh ke liye jaan bhi de sakta hai.”
Chahal, who has a petite figure and is not the strongest amongst the Indian lot, is renowned for his bravery in flighting the ball, not intimidated by power-hitters and deceiving the batsmen through his variations. It is fairly the reason for his success in white-ball cricket.
The wily leg-spinner has been quite active on social media and recently conversed with his Aghan counterpart Rashid Khan.
Of-late, Chahal is famous for barging in on Instagram Live chats and stealing the show for his comments, and his Tik-Tok videos. Even the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli barbed at Chahal for his antics on social media.
