If the second Test match of the ongoing series between England and West Indies belonged to Ben Stokes, it has to be said that the deciding game belonged to Stuart Broad.

The left-handed batter first clinched the joint second-fastest fifty with the bat, helping England score a push to 369 in the first innings.

Opener Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, and Ollie Pope also notched up their half-centuries in the process. Then, Broad came back to pick six wickets with the ball to complete a memorable outing.

As a result, the visitors were left tottering on Day 2, conceding a massive lead of 172 In the first innings. During England’s efforts with the ball, James Anderson picked a couple of wickets, along with Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer sharing a wicket each.

Meanwhile, the hero of the Southampton Test match, Jermaine Blackwood, had no answer to one of the peach deliveries from Woakes.

Blackwood got castled with a neat in-dipper from Woakes, which pitched outside the off-stump but crashed into the middle. The delivery left Blackwood shocked for a moment as he took a breather to decipher what unravelled.

Here’s the video:

In the second innings, England made the visitors chase leather by extending their lead to almost 400. Rory Burns slammed a majestic 90, while Joe Root and Dominic Sibley registered 50+ scores.

West Indies, yet again, were put under the pump by Broad who picked up a couple of wickets just at the stroke of stumps on Day Three. Broad cliched the wickets of opener John Campbell and nightwatchman Kemar Roach.

Now, the visitors are left with too much to do in their bid to save the Test match.
