Popular Indian actress Namrata Shirodkar recently hosted an Ask Me Anything session on her Instagram account. From talking about her husband, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, to opening up on her daily routine and her hobbies, Namrata candidly answered to the queries of her followers.

A user asked her about her favourite cricketers, and she named Indian talisman Virat Kohli and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

When asked if she has ever played cricket, Namrata quipped: “Yes, the only difference is it’s called French cricket.”

Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni are two prominent personalities of Indian cricket:

Apart from striking blazing centuries and earning laurels for his many match-winning knocks, Virat is also an agile fielder and one of the fittest cricketers around. On the other hand, Dhoni is just days away from celebrating his 39th birthday. While he last represented India during the 2019 World Cup in England, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman was still seen sprinting between-the-wickets while his ‘lightning-quick persona behind the stumps has overall remained the same as seen during his early years in the sport.

In fact, in an Instagram live chat with India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Virat had revealed what a vital role Dhoni played in getting him India’s captaincy.

“From the day I came into the Indian side, I wanted to learn and was intrigued by the game. I would always be in Dhoni’s ears on the field. I would be bouncing off a lot of my ideas with him, of which he would refuse plenty. But he would also discuss a few things with me if he liked an idea,” Kohli told Ashwin.

“He would always keep observing me. I kept learning from him, and my inquisitiveness probably gave him the belief and confidence that perhaps I was the next guy to lead the country.”

“I don’t think the selectors appointed me as India captain suddenly. They probably had Dhoni as a sounding board before giving me the reins. I believe Dhoni played a big role in me getting the India captaincy,” he added.
