One of the unsung heroes of the Indian cricket in the last decade, Ravindra Jadeja, has chipped in with vital contributions whenever asked from, in all departments of the game.

Jadeja has made a place for himself in all formats of the game due to his three-dimensional utilities. Very often we have seen Jaddu turn the match around for his side with a moment of brilliance in the field.

Apart from scoring priceless runs lower down the order at a rampant strike-rate in all formats, Jadeja is an asset with the ball due to his discipline line and lengths.

Further, Jadeja is amongst the fastest runners between the wicket. Also, the U19 World Cup winner of 2008, is well-known for saving precious runs on the field and renowned for his supreme fitness.

Many tag him as the best fielder in the Indian side due to his immaculate accuracy with direct hits as well as his reputation for pouching acrobatic catches. No batsmen dare to take on the rocket arm of Jadeja from the deep.

Now, Wisden has felicitated the Saurashtra superstar with the ‘Most Valuable Test Player’ of the 21st Century accolade.

“It might come as a surprise to see Ravindra Jadeja, India’s spin-bowling all-rounder, feature as India’s number one. After all, he’s not even always an automatic pick in their Test team. However, when he does play he is picked as a frontline bowler and has batted as high as No.6 – contributing to a very high match involvement,” Cricviz’s Freddie Wilde told Wisden.

Further, Jaddu’s MVP rating was found out to be a jaw-dropping 97.3, which is only second to Sri Lankan spin-wizard, Muttiah Muralitharan.

“The 31-year-old’s bowling average of 24.62 is better than Shane Warne’s and his batting average of 35.26 is better than Shane Watson’s. His batting and bowling average differential of 10.62 runs is the second-best of any player this century to have scored more than 1,000 runs and taken 150 wickets. He is an all-rounder of the very highest quality,” Wilde added.

After the news broke out, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) instantly took to Twitter to salute the accomplishment of their heroes.
