Over the years, during various tête-à-tête with Indian captain Virat Kohli, he was vocal about how Bollywood actress and producer, Anushka Sharma, has been instrumental in his success.
Kohli has forever remained grateful for the role Anushka played in his life in shifting perspective and changing him as a person.
During a recent interview with India’s Test opener Mayank Agarwal, Kohli reiterated the role Anushka played in his success.
“I give Anushka full credit for making me see a different side of things altogether. I’m so grateful that Anushka is my life partner as she made me realise a lot of things that are to do with the larger picture. My responsibility as a player, my responsibility with who I am today, what that brings along with it. Setting an example for people in the right manner. All these things have come from Anushka,” Virat told Mayank on ‘Open Nets with Mayank’.
“If I hadn’t met Anushka I might not have changed as I was not an open person and was very rigid and she’s made me change as a person for good,” he added.
Anushka met Virat back in 2014 during a commercial shoot for ‘Head and Shoulders’. Since then, the two, fondly known as ‘Virushka’, had been very public about their relationship.
Once Virat also narrated how Anushka helped him overcome his mentality post torrid 2014 England tour.
Kohli even lashed out at the public trolling Anushka for making an appearance in the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup in Sydney. Fans blamed the actress for the heartbreaking loss.
The Pari, NH10 and PK actress made several appearances in the stands, cheering for Kohli during key India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) games. The power couple went on to tie the knot in a secret ceremony in Venice, Italy, back in December 2018.
