The forced lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak has brought the sporting action in India to a screeching halt. For cricketers, a long break from hectic schedules and arduous tour that otherwise fills the calendar year has been a blessing in disguise.
Most of them, being stuck at their local home, are utilising the time by engaging with fans, recalling old memories and pulling legs of their teammates on social media.
On Tuesday (28 July), India skipper Virat Kohli posted a nostalgic picture in which he can be seen relaxing on top of a tree.
“Throwback to when you could just climb up a tree and chill,” captioned Kohli.
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Khan was quick to notice and came up with an amusing response. “Trying to watch the game buddy;)?” wrote Irfan.

Kohli has been spending lockdown days at his local apartment in Mumbai. The Delhi-born has been restricted from outdoor-training since Mumbai is among the worst-hit by the deadly virus. But, he has been very strict with himself when it comes to following a fitness schedule and diet plans, as evident from his various social media posts.
In an interview with Mayank Agarwal, the Indian skipper recently spoke about how he changed his fitness routine after IPL 2012.
“2012 IPL I came back home and saw myself, was disgusted. I just wanted to change everything about myself. I also saw how the dynamics of cricket around the world were changing rapidly and how I felt we were far behind in intensity levels as other teams. They were moving far ahead of us in terms of fitness levels.”
“That really bothered me and it had to start at an individual level first and that realisation came to me after that IPL season in 2012 when I was eating anything that was kept in front of me,” Kohli said.
