  • Barbados Tridents will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the second match of the CPL 2020.

  • Tridents also happens to be the defending champion of the tournament.

The defending champion Barbados Tridents (BT) will lock horns with St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKN) in the second game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

West Indies Test skipper Jason Holder will be captaining the Tridents while Rayad Emrit, one of the most consistent bowlers of the league, will lead the Patriots.

Tridents have arguably the most balanced squad, with the likes of T20 veterans like Rashid Khan and Shai Hope in their arsenal. On the other hand, SKN’s impressive bowling attack, led by the pace duo of Sheldon Cottrell and Alzarri Joseph somewhat compensate for their mediocre batting line-up.

BT vs SKN, Probable XI:

Barbados Tridents

Tridents will be aiming towards defending their championship which they won last year after defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the final. Johnson Charles was the leading run-getters for the franchise in 2019, and he will look forward to replicating his performance this year too.

Apart from Charles, the likes of Corey Anderson and Shai Hope makes them a force to reckon with. At the same time, Jason Holder and Afghanistan’s maestro Rashid Khan spearheads the bowling attack.

Probable XI: Shai Hope, Johnson Charles, Shamarh Brooks, Jonathan Carter, Corey Anderson, Jason Holder (c), Rashid Khan, Mitchell Santner, Raymon Reifer, Keon Harding and Hayden Walsh

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

SKN dealt with a massive blow after their captain Carlos Brathwaite shifted his base to Jamaica Tallawahs (JT). There will be a considerable burden on the shoulders of Rayad Emrit who inherited the captaincy throne from Brathwaite.

Evin Lewis, Chris Lynn and Ben Dunk are some of the big names for the franchise in their batting department. In Cottrell, the franchise has one of the most skilful bowlers at their disposal.

Probable XI: Evin Lewis, Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, Denesh Ramdin, Nick Kelly, Joshua da Silva, Rayad Emrit (C), Alzarri Joseph, Ish Sodhi, Jon-Russ Jaggesar and Sheldon Cottrell
