The 2020 edition of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is set to commence from August 18, 2020, after getting a nod from the Trinidad and Tobago government to host the entirety of the season in Trinidad itself.
Last-year runner-up Guyana Amazon Warriors will lock horns with Trinbago Knight Riders in the tournament-opener on August 18.
Altogether, there will be 33 matches on the cards with the final of the tournament taking place on September 10. The Brian Lara Cricket Academy will host the majority of the matches, including knockout rounds and the finals. The rest of the games will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
In 2019, Barbados Tridents (BT) won the league title for the second time after defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors by 27 runs in the final. Their maiden title came way back in 2014.
Over the years, the Tridents have emerged into one of the most exciting teams with some of the premier T20 players like Rashid Khan, Alex Hales and Marcus Stoinis in their arsenal.
