Of many innovations that MS Dhoni brought to the game of cricket, the helicopter shot is perhaps the most popular one. It is a high-risk shot but quite handy for batsmen if executed with perfection.
For cricket fanatics, it has been over a year since they last saw Dhoni playing his favourite shot, dispatching balls to the far end of the stadiums.
Meanwhile, Pari Sharma, a seven-years-old cricket prodigy from Haryana, grabbed eyeballs of the cricketing fandom after a video of her emulating Dhoni’s helicopter shot went viral on Twitter.
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra admired Pari’s masterful execution and control, and wrote: “Thursday Thunderbolt…our very own Pari Sharma. Isn’t she super talented?”

Sanjay Manjrekar, the well-known commentator, was also impressed by her outrageous skill.
“I see now helicopter shot being actually practiced. Along with collecting the ball very close to the stumps as keeper, this is another cricketing technique Dhoni has popularised as great options for budding cricketers,” wrote Manjrekar.

This is not the first time Pari has taken the cricketing world by storm. The likes of Michael Vaughan, Mike Atherton and Nasser Hussain had earlier lauded the seven-year-old and took note of her flawless footwork while playing drive shots.
Husain tweeted: “This is a great video !! For so many different reasons…..”

“Have a look at this video .. Pari Sharma .. 7 yrs old .. Her movements are as good as it gets,” Vaughan wrote.
