Former Pakistan cricketer, Danish Kaneria, hasn’t shied away to express his religious beliefs in recent times. In fact, Kaneria has often revealed the problems he faced being a Hindu residing in Pakistan. He has also criticised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not supporting him enough during his playing days.

Now, Kaneria once again took to microblogging website Twitter where he expressed his excitement over the ‘bhumi pujan’ of the much-anticipated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The former leg-spinner posted a tweet and termed August 05 as a historical day for Hindus all across the world.

“Today is the Historical Day for Hindus across the world. Lord Ram is our idol,” he wrote.

Fans from across the world praised Kaneria for expressing his sentiments but also showed their fear regarding the aftermaths of the tweet. A netizen even asked him to stay safe, to which the ex-cricketer responded brilliantly.

The 39-year-old replied to the tweet by saying: “We are safe and no one should have any problem with our religious beliefs. Life of Prabhu Shri Ram teaches us unity and brotherhood.”

Kaneria posted another tweet mentioning the greatness of Lord Ram.

“The beauty of Lord Rama lies in his character, not in his name. He is a symbol of the victory of right over the evil. There is a wave of happiness across the world today. It is a moment of great satisfaction,” Kaneria tweeted.

Earlier, Team India batsman Shikhar Dhawan and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also reacted to the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony. While Shikhar congratulated everyone on a historic day, Kaif reminded the country of its culture of peaceful co-existence.

“Today is a day of celebration and one that will go down in the history books. Congratulations to everyone involved. #RamMandir” Shikhar wrote on Twitter.

“Growing up in Allahabad, a city with Ganga-Jamuna culture, I loved watching Ramlila-a tale of compassion,co-existence, honour and dignity. Lord Ram saw goodness in everyone, and our conduct should reflect his legacy. Don’t allow the agents of hate to come in the way of love and unity,” tweeted Kaif.
