  • Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer, as per reports.

  • Yuvraj Singh wished him a speedy recovery on the microblogging site.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been reportedly diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. On Tuesday (August 11), the actor took to Twitter to announce his short-break from the movie industry, but he didn’t mention the disease.

Dutt, on his official Twitter handle, wrote: “Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon.”

As per reports, the 61-years-old was taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after he complained of breathlessness and chest pain. His coronavirus test came negative and was soon discharged. He will fly to the USA for further treatment.

The news has left everyone from Bollywood to cricketing landscapes in shock, and many took to social media to wish Dutt a speedy recovery.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who himself survived the deadly disease, came up with encouraging words for the Bollywood celebrity.

“You are, have and always will be a fighter @duttsanjay. I know the pain it causes but I also know you are strong and will see this tough phase through. My prayers and best wishes for your speedy recovery,” wrote Yuvraj on Twitter.

The legendary Indian cricketer was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour when he was operating at the peak of his power, right after the ICC World Cup 2019. He went through different stages of chemotherapy in Boston and Indianapolis in the USA, defeated cancer and returned to the field.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt, on the professional front, is awaiting the release of his next movies, Sadak 2 and Bhuj: The Pride of India. He has also shared a screen with Kannada superstar Yash in the latest instalment of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.
