The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has seen the Indian cricketers being confined to their home since late-March. The Men in Blue were set to play a three-match series against the Proteas and then had to take part in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the fixtures got postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that IPL 2020 will begin on September 19, in the UAE. The Indian cricketers will hit the field sooner than later.

Several Indian players have been quite active on social media during the lockdown and restrictions, and Shreyas Iyer is one of them. Team India’s new number 4 stunned the fans with magic tricks and then amused them with his fielding skills at Mumbai residence. However, he has now stopped posting such stuff on social media.

On Wednesday, Shreyas posted a ‘bored picture’ at his home. His photo drew reaction from Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan, who asked the Mumbaikar to learn some new magic tricks.

After Sonal’s comment, fans soon joined the fun and came up with a grinning face, love-struck, two hearts and ROFL type of emojis for the cricketer.

On the professional front, Iyer was last seen in action during the 2019-20 India tour of New Zealand. He was the leading run-scorer for India in the three-match ODI series which the tourists lost by an embarrassing margin 3-0.

The Indian team was supposed to host South Africa for a three-match ODI series in March and then head to their respective IPL franchises training camp. However, both events were suspended for an indefinite time.

Taking about the IPL, Shreyas had a good tournament last year as he led the Delhi Capitals to the play-offs. Last year, under his captaincy, Delhi won 13 out of 24 matches, which was their best performance in the last ten years.
