Team India captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Hardik Pandya led the cricketing fraternity in wishing newly engaged couple Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma after the leg-spinner shared a picture from their Roka ceremony on Saturday (August 08).

Yuzi and Dhanashree took to their respective social media handle to share the pictures, with caption reading, “We said ‘Yes’ along with our families #rokaceremony.”

Virat, who also leads Chahal in the Indian Premier League (IPL), wrote: “Congratulations to you both god bless” below his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates’ post.

Hardik, who was recently blessed with a baby boy, commented, “Congrats bro, Happy for both of you.”

Suresh Raina, meanwhile, posted, “@yuzi_chahal23 congratulations.” India’s flamboyant opening batsman KL Rahul wrote “Congratulations to both of you.”

Other Indian cricketers like Shreyas Iyer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shikhar Dhawan, Kedar Jadhav, Mayank Agarwal, Mohammad Siraj and Jayant Yadav also sent their wishes to the couple.

Amid the coronavirus lockdown, Chahal had appeared in a few Zoom workshops with his lady love Dhanashree. On her official Instagram profile, Dhanashree describes herself as ‘Doctor, Choreographer, YouTuber, and the founder of Dhanashree Verma Company’.

On Friday, Yuzi had expressed his excitement ahead of the 13th edition of the IPL, which is scheduled to be held from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The IPL is set to take place in three cities across the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The detailed schedule of the league matches and the play-offs will soon be released by the IPL Governing Council.
