The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the complete schedule for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. The 14th IPL season is set to bowl out from April 9 with the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai.

The world’s largest cricket ground – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – will host the playoffs as well as the final on May 30. The renovated Motera stadium that hosted India’s second pink ball fixture at home with great grandeur will host its first-ever IPL.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, each team will play at just four venues in the group stage. The 56 league stage matches have been split into 10 games each in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru, while Delhi and Ahmedabad will host eight. The afternoon games are scheduled for a 3:30 PM IST start, while the evening matches will begin at 7:30 PM IST.

There will be a total of 11 double-headers, with six teams playing 3 afternoon matches each and two teams playing 2. Also, every team will travel only three times during the group stage that goes on till May 23.
