Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya thanked his former franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) after being released by the five-time champions ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Mumbai-based franchise has retained skipper Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav for IPL 2022.
Hardik was bought by MI for INR 10 Lakh in 2015. Since then, he was an integral part of the team for seven years. Out of seven seasons, the 28-year-old has won four titles with MI, including the back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
The Baroda cricketer took to Twitter and cherished all his memories with the team.
“I’ll carry these memories with me for the rest of my life, I’ll carry these moments with me for the rest of my life. The friendships I’ve made, the bonds that have been formed, the people, the fans, I’ll always be grateful. I’ve grown not just as a player but as a person. I came here as a youngster with big dreams – we won together, we lost together, we fought together. Every moment with this team has a special place in my heart. They say all good things must end but @mumbaiindians will remain in my heart forever,” Hardik tweeted.

When it comes to IPL, Hardik has played 92 matches and scored 1476 runs at an average of 27.3 for MI.
Also, as a bowler, he has grabbed 42 wickets in 92 matches at an economy of 9.06. His best bowling figure is 3/20 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2019.
With the addition of two new franchises – Ahmedabad and Lucknow– for the next season, these two teams are allowed to pick three players from a pool of non-retained players by the eight franchises in the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction. It would be interesting to see Hardik, in which team he will be seen in the action.
