Pakistan defeated West Indies in the second T20 International (T20I) by nine runs to clinch the three-match series on Tuesday.

Batting first, the hosts posted 178/2 on the board in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to crucial knocks by Mohammad Rizwan (38 off 30), Haider Ali (31 off 24), Iftikhar Ahmed (32 off 19), and Shadab Khan (28 off 12).

For the visitors, Odean Smith was the pick of the bowler. The right-armer bagged two wickets while conceding 24 runs in three overs. Akeal Hosein was the least economical bowler for the Windies. He picked up one scalp while giving away only 16 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

In response, West Indies only managed to reach 163 in 20 overs, losing the contest by nine runs. Brandon King was the only highlight in the Windies chase. He scored 67 off 43 deliveries with the help of nine boundaries, including three sixes.

For the hosts, Shaheen Afridi picked up the maximum three wickets for 26 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Apart from Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz (2/36), Mohammad Wasim Jr (2/39), and Haris Rauf (2/40) all bagged two wickets.
