Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir is regarded as one of the most skilful bowlers of modern-day cricket. His art of swinging balls both ways and the ability to deliver toe-crushing yorkers have always puzzled the best batters.

Although Amir has left international cricket, but he does take part in various T20 leagues and makes an immediate impact. Similar was the case when the left-armer was seen plying his trade for Galle Gladiators in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2021.

Amir grabbed the eyeballs during his side’s Qualifier 1 match against Jaffna Kings after he dismissed opening batter Avishka Fernando and gave him a send-off. It all started in the first over of Jaffna’s massive 189-run chase when Fernando smashed Amir’s length delivery for a humungous six over the mid-wicket region.

However, on the very next delivery, the pacer came back in grand style. Amir bowled a terrific in-swinging delivery which went through the gates and shattered the stumps. After dismissing Fernando, Amir was seen giving the opener a fiery send-off.

Here is the video:

Overall, Amir bowled three overs in the game and conceded 22 runs while picking one wicket. However, the pick of the bowler for Gladiators was medium-pacer Nuwan Thushara, who completely destroyed Jaffna by taking a five-wicket haul

Thushara completed his fifer even before completing the four-over quota. He gave away 13 runs in the 3.5 overs. Riding on Thushara’s incredible bowling, Jaffna were bundled out for 124 in 16.5 overs, losing the contest by 64 runs. Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was their highest scorer. He made 59 off 37 balls.

Earlier, Gladiators posted 188/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Openers Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka dominated the proceedings by adding a stunning 121 runs stand. While Mendis scored 85 off 53 balls, his partner-in-crime Gunathilaka made 55 from 42 deliveries.
