From making strong decisions on the field to carrying a smile off the pitch, World Cup-winning India captain MS Dhoni has garnered respect from one and all.

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf is the recent cricketer to be overwhelmed by Dhoni’s goodwill gesture. Rauf, who is currently playing for Melbourne Stars in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL), on Friday, took to Twitter to reveal that he has been gifted a number 7 jersey by Dhoni.

The fast bowler also thanked Chennai Super Kings team manager Russell Radhakrishnan for his kind support.

“The legend & capt cool @msdhoni has honored me with this beautiful gift his shirt. The “7” still winning hearts through his kind & goodwill gestures. @russcsk specially Thank you so much for kind support,” tweeted Rauf.

Reacting to Rauf’s post, Russell retweeted it and wrote that Dhoni always completes his promises. “When our captain @msdhoni promises he delivers, glad you love it champ #whistlepodu @ChennaiIPL,” the CSK manager captioned his post.

Meanwhile, Dhoni was last seen action during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which saw his team lifting the magnificent trophy for the fourth time.

As for Rauf, he made his international debut in 2020 and has become a vital cog of Pakistan team in limited-overs cricket. He has so far taken 41 and 14 wickets in 34 T20Is and 8 ODIs respectively.

In the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in UAE, Rauf bagged 8 wickets in 6 games and impressed everyone with his raw pace taking Pakistan to the semi-finals.
