England speedster Stuart Broad again proved his upper hand over David Warner after dismissing the Aussie opener on the first day of the ongoing fourth Ashes Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

As rain impacted Day 1 of the game, restricting the two opening sessions to just 21.4 overs, Broad got rid of Warner in the second last over of the second session.

It was the 21st over of Australia’s first innings when Broad came back into the attack and struck on the last ball. The English paceman bowled a full delivery just outside off, tempted the batter into the drive. The red cherry nipped away just to find an edge of the bat and flew to the second slip, where Zak Crawley made no mistake in completing the catch.

Notably, it was the 13th time in Ashes Tests that Broad has taken the prized wicket of his ‘bunny’ Warner. The English star celebrated in a cheeky style after sending the southpaw back to pavilion.

Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan questioned about Broad’s absence in the Gabba Test. Broad was benched in the opening Test in Brisbane, where Warner scored 94 runs in the first innings.

“Where were you in Brisbane? We should have seen this three weeks ago,” said Vaughan while commentating on Fox Cricket.

In the final session, where rain once again played its part, Australia scored 70 runs to finish the day at 126/3 in 46.5 overs with Usman Khawaja (4 no) and Steve Smith (6 no) at the crease. The hosts lost two more wickets in the form of Marcus Harris (38) and Marnus Labuschagne (28). While James Anderson (1/24) got rid of Harris, fast bowler Mark Wood (1/31) removed Labuschagne.
