On Saturday, Indian woman’s ODi captain Mithali Raj conducted a Question and Answer session on Twitter where she replied to several queries. During the chat with her fans, Mithali was asked to reveal her favourite Men and Women cricketers.

“Quarantine about to end, and before I get on the field, let’s have a Q&A with #CricketTwitter Let’s go #AskMithali,” tweeted Mithali.

Starting with the Women cricketers, Mithali picked Australian batter Karen Rolton, Indian spin legend Neetu David, England pacer Katherine Brunt and current Aussie skipper Meg Lanning. Similarly, when it comes to male cricketers, the Jodhpur-born also named four players in the combination of two Indians and a couple of Australians.

Mithali picked legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, as her first choice, followed by ODI specialist Aussie star Michael Bevan. She then went with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and current Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah.

“Women – Karen Rolton, Neetu David, Katherine Brunt and Meg Lanning. Men – Sachin Tendulkar, Michael Bevan, Ricky Ponting and Jasprit Bumrah,” Mithali wrote on Twitter.

Mithali, who has taken Indian Women cricket to new heights, was also quizzed about how women in villages get into the teams. The Hyderabad cricketer revealed the complete procedure, stating the each cricket association of states run trial camps of different age groups and the best talent then gets picked.

“Each state has a cricket association @BCCI trials are held for age groups, and seniors are held in each state. Lots of kids from villages with a lot of talent enroll themselves at trials. Some very talented are picked. (1/2),” said Mithali.

“But yes, it always help if you are in any coaching camps in the district under which your village is. All districts have a lot of coaching camps and nets (2/2),” she added.

Notably, Mithali is currently in New Zealand, where India will play only one T20I and five ODIs, starting February 09, before they take part in the much-awaited Women’s World Cup 2022.
