The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega-auction has reached the business end in Bengaluru. Quite a few players have earned a huge bracket today, while some have missed out as well.

One of the biggest newsmakers in the auction was pacer Deepak Chahar, who triggered a bidding war among the franchises. As many as four teams – Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) – all battled it out for Chahar.

However, CSK pushed all the limits to grab their go-to man, especially in the powerplay overs. The MS Dhoni-led franchise invested as much as INR 14 crores to regain the services of Chahar. So now, the right-arm speedster has became the most expensive Indian bowler in IPL history.
