Team India defeated Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I to complete the clean sweep over the Islanders at HPCA stadium in Dharmsala on Sunday.

Chasing 147, Shreyas Iyer continued from where he left in the previous match, playing another match-winning knock to take India home. The right-handed batter stayed unbeaten on 73 off 45 deliveries, with the help of 10 boundaries, including a six.

All-rounder duo of Deepak Hooda (21) and Ravindra Jadeja (21 not out) chipped in with some valuable contributions to help hosts register a whitewash over Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series.

Earlier, India restricted the tourists for 146/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowler for the home team, taking a couple of wickets for 23 runs in his quota of 4 overs, including a maiden. Harshal Patel (1/29), Mohammed Siraj (1/22) and Ravi Bishnoi (1/32) bagged one wicket apiece.

For the visitors, captain Dasun Shanaka was the lone warrior, with the rest of the batters failing to stay in the middle for too long. Shanaka played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 74 runs off just 38 balls, including nine fours and a couple of six.
