Karachi Kings are having the worst season in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022. The winners of the 2020 edition of PSL haven’t yet won a single game in their total five outings in the current season of the exciting tournament.
One of the biggest upsets for Karachi is the average form of their captain Babar Azam. The 27-year-old has scored 194 runs in five matches at an average of 48.50 with only one half-century. Despite struggling to score consistent runs with the bat, Babar hasn’t disappointed his fans with his fielding skills. In their previous fixture against Islamabad United, he took a spectacular catch to dismiss Asif Ali.
It all happened during the 18th over of Islamabad’s innings bowled by Usman Shinwari. The left-arm pacer went for a slower cutter outside off, and the batter completely mistimed the shot. The white leather looped in the air, and it appeared that the ball would easily go beyond Babar at extra-cover. However, the Karachi-born backpedalled and tried to take the catch over his shoulder. Babar outstretched his right hand and managed to grab a stunning catch.

After conceding 177/6 in 20 overs, Karachi Kings couldn’t get going in the run-chase and lost the contest by 42 runs. Babar, who took a remarkable catch, failed to replicate that form in his batting, as he was cleaned up by Mohammad Wasim Jr for 8 runs only.
“Unfortunately, we lost all the games so far, and hopefully, we can turn it around and want to keep that belief and confidence going for the rest of the season. Whatever mistakes we did here, we will try to avoid in Lahore. No partnerships with the bat tonight, and nothing went to plan today,” said Babar after the match.
