Jos Buttler is having a dream run with the bat for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Englishman has already smashed three centuries in the fifteenth season of the tournament.
Buttler’s first hundred came against Mumbai Indians (MI), while the second was opposite Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He hit his third ton in the recently-concluded match between RR and Delhi Capitals (DC).
Buttler’s stunning show with the willow helped Rajasthan bag their fifth win of the season and reach the top spot in the points table. He is the currently the Orange Cap holder with 491 runs from just seven games.
Overall, Buttler’s hundred against DC was his fourth triple-figure score in the lucrative league. But which is his best knock in the IPL so far? Well, the 31-year-old has himself picked that inning.
During a chat show for ESPNcricinfo, Buttler went on to reveal that his knock against MI in 2018 is his favourite.
In that game, Buttler shined with the willow during a chase of 169. He ended up hitting an unbeaten 94 off 53 balls, with the help of nine fours and five sixes. Riding on Buttler’s scintillating batting display, the Royals won the contest by seven wickets with 12 balls remaining.
“My best IPL innings was against Mumbai Indians in 2018 when I got 93, I think,” said Buttler.
Meanwhile, after smashing the third ton of the ongoing IPL 2022, Buttler admitted that he is enjoying the best form of his life. The Somerset cricketer mentioned that he would love to continue his rich form all the way through.
“Was a special knock, enjoyed it. I love this stadium, it was a fantastic atmosphere, my first IPL was here with the Mumbai Indians. I am enjoying the best form of my life, I need to continue with this form all the way through. The ball swung in the first over, and it was a bit tricky. You need to soak up that pressure and come through it. Once you get through it, the confidence comes back,” Buttler had said after receiving the ‘Player of the Match’ award on Friday.
