In his 100th game at the Indian Premier League (IPL), KL Rahul etched his name in record books with a sensational century for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Mumbai Indians (MI).

In the ongoing 26th match of IPL 2022, Rahul lit up the Brabourne Stadium with an unbeaten 103 off just 60 deliveries. He hit nine fours and five eye-catching sixes during his sensational knock.

The Mangaluru-born remained watchful against Jasprit Bumrah and batted patiently in the middle overs. But at the death, he took every bowler to the cleaners.

Riding on Rahul’s batting brilliance, LSG finished at 199/4 in 20 overs. It was his second hundred against MI, making him the fourth player to score two centuries against the same opponent.

Further, Rahul is now the second captain to hit more than one ton in the history of IPL after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli.

Most centuries in IPL by Indian players:

  • 5 – Virat Kohli
  • 3 – Sanju Samson
  • 3 – KL Rahul *
