In the 18th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) thrashed Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association on Saturday
Chasing 152, RCB got off to a decent start with openers Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis adding 50 runs in eight overs. In the very next over, Jaydev Unadkat broke the partnership by dismissing captain Du Plessis (16).
Then, Rawat and Virat Kohli took charge and completely owned the show by forming a giant 80 runs partnership for the second wicket to take the game away from Mumbai. Rawat smashed a sensational half-century and was looking well set to take the team home before he met an unfortunate run-out in the 17th over.
The left-handed batter scored 66 off 47 deliveries with the help of eight boundaries, including 6 sixes. Similarly, Kohli scored a decent knock of 48 from 36 balls before Dewald Brevis got rid of the former RCB skipper in the penultimate over. Glenn Maxwell then hit back-to-back boundaries to finish the proceedings.
Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav, with a sensational unbeaten knock, guided Mumbai to a respectable total after MI lost six wickets for just 79 in 13.2 overs.
Suryakumar starred with the willow against all the odds and stayed undefeated at 68 runs from 37 deliveries with the help of 11 boundaries, including 6 humungous sixes.
Openers Ishan Kishan (26) and Rohit Sharma (26) chipped in with valuable contributions at the top as MI reached 151/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Two great teams at the #TATAIPL today. Neither really competed today. Had their moments at best, but were never likely to win. 0-4 now for both. Nobody saw that coming
