In the 27th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 16 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

Chasing the enormous target of 190, DC did start well with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw adding 50 runs for the opening wicket. However, after Shaw’s dismissal, DC never really got the momentum and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Warner shined with the bat, scoring a brilliant 66 off 38 balls, including nine boundaries, before Wanindu Hasaranga removed him. No other batter could stand tall in front of RCB bowlers as DC only managed to reach 173/7 in 20 overs, losing the contest by 16 runs

Earlier, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik propelled the Challengers to a massive total despite a shaky start. Maxwell smashed 55 from 34 balls with the help of seven fours and a couple of sixes.

However, after Maxwell’s dismissal, RCB were just 92/5 in 11.2 overs, and that’s when Dinesh Karthik took charge to change the momentum completely. Karthik played a blistering unbeaten knock of 66 from just 34 deliveries, including five fours and as many sixes, to take RCB to 189/5 in 20 overs.
